Bay Title, LLC, which had opened its first location in Newport News in 2016 and expanded to Richmond three years later, opened its third location in 2021 on Gloucester’s Main Street.
Owners Rachael Darouse Hogge and Dawn Shackelford of Gloucester said the decision to open the Gloucester location was an easy one to make. They said they were at a gym at Gloucester Point when they realized the county they call home was perfect for their business.
Bay Title offers closing services on a variety of real estate transactions and loans for buyers, sellers and realtors. While Bay Title offers the same services that a lot of other agencies offer, Shackelford said what sets them apart is customer service. They put a lot of emphasis on communication and availability. Hogge said she and Shackelford are working owners who are very hands on with the business. Bay Title has a staff of 10 between the three locations to assist customers with their needs.
