The Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews will have activities for children and adults on Saturday in conjunction with the Autumn on Main Vintage Market.
Pumpkin painting for children will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the Bay School. Those participating should stop by the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center to buy their pumpkins. The Bay School will provide materials and paints. Painted pumpkins will need some drying time before they go home, so participants are encouraged to check out other stores and vendors while their pumpkins dry.
Two artists from Gauge & Grain, a new metal and wood show in the gallery, will be available to talk about their artwork and the techniques and processes they used. Among the items on display is “The Bear” by John Latell. Also as part of the Gauge and Grain exhibit, the Bay School will have a metal jewelry craft for both children and adults.
