The Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews has needed to rethink its fundraising plans this year due to the pandemic, coming up with a variety of ideas to replace the loss of funds when its annual auction had to be canceled because of social distancing requirements.
Bay School board members have purchased gift certificates to local businesses to create a “Mysteries of Mathews” raffle basket currently valued at $350, with gift cards to five businesses. But the value will continue to grow with additional gift cards and mystery items from additional businesses.
Raffle tickets are available now and will be sold online and at the Bay School until the winning ticket is drawn on Saturday, Dec. 12. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.
Other ongoing and upcoming fundraising efforts include a “Succulents and More” plant sale, with donated plants and pots; a limited edition print sale starting in early November; and an online auction from Nov. 12-15.
