Bay School fundraiser set for Sept. 30

Bidding has already begun in the Bay School Community Arts Center’s “Taking Flight” Gala and Art Auction, to be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Parson’s Point in the Glebe section of Mathews.
Among the numerous items being auctioned off are several private party packages, including a bourbon tasting party, a food and wine party, a BBQ and Tunes party, and a home-cooked Indian dinner; a half-day sport fishing tour; trips to South Africa and Portugal; baskets of everything from art supplies to pet supplies; a variety of foods and beverages; and various works of art.
The evening will include jazz by the Tony Mata Trio and flights of fine cuisine by Brian Marshall, including charcuterie boards, hors d’oeuvres, entrees such as buffalo chicken, steak and blue cheese, and tacos, and desserts. There will also be an open bar with wine, beer, and spirits.
Tickets are $150 per person or $1,000 for a table of eight. Those who volunteer at least two hours may buy a ticket for $75.
