Bay School exhibit postponed until July

The Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews has postponed its annual juried exhibition until late July, with an opening reception and awards ceremony planned for July 25. The time has yet to be determined. The show will run through Aug. 24. The action was taken in response to the national health emergency regarding the coronavirus COVID-19.
Eighty-seven pieces of work by 57 Virginia artists from 42 locales across the commonwealth have been selected for this year’s show.
Juror and Judge Nicole McCormick Santiago chose the selected pieces from 346 works of art submitted by 129 artists. The featured works include 70 two-dimensional pieces and 17 three-dimensional pieces in 21 different media. The show will offer prizes totaling $5,000, with $1,500 for Best in Show. The winners will be selected by Santiago once the show is hung.
