The Willing Workers, of the Old Baptist Church, will have a basket party on the lawn in front of the church on Thursday, 12th of September. The proceeds are for the benefit of the parsonage. The baskets fixed up by the young ladies of the Willing Workers are all that one could desire. They are always filled with the choicest kind of toothsome delicacies and we would be well satisfied if we had one of them in front of us now. It will do you and the church good. There will be also plenty ice cream and cake.

A group of ladies of the Mathews Memorial Library Committee will serve supper at the Junior Order Hall, at Mathews Court House, Saturday evening from 5 to 7 o’clock. The menu includes ham, chicken, rolls or bread, cabbage, tomatoes, raw or stewed, butter beans, tea, pie and other good things in generous portions.
