Barbara Smith Anders, 76, of Collinsville, Va., died on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024.

She was born on May 20, 1948 in Hampton to the late Marion Lee Smith and Gladys Hogge Smith. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Andrew Smith.

Barbara is survived by husband, John Anders, and brother, Gary P. Smith of Hayes.

She graduated from Gloucester High School and Riverside Hospital School of Professional Nursing in Newport News. She earned a master’s degree in Nursing Administration and spent her professional career in Martinsville and Patrick County, Va.

The family will receive guests at a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville. A visitation will follow the service.
