Barbara Mathers Ross, 90, passed away April 4, 2011.

Formerly of Covington and Richmond, she loved her life and home of 23 years in Gloucester Point where she made many friends. She was especially proud of her time as an Army cryptographer during WWII.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Newcomer of Florida, and son, David Newcomer and wife Louise and grandson, Will, all of Portsmouth.

Gifts in Barbara’s memory may be given to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester, Va. 23061.

Services are to be private for the family.
