Barbara C. Ambrose, age 83, of Gloucester, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at York Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center. Barbara was born on December 29, 1939 to the late Stanley and Pansy Coates. Barbara worked for the United States Postal System as a mail carrier for 30 years. With a birthday so close to Christmas, it was only natural that she loved that time of year, which she decorated for all year long. She also enjoyed staying fit by going on walks, keeping her mind sharp by reading, and relaxing on the beach. Barbara was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Nasya Brock. Her survivors include husband, Freddie; children, Tina Brock (Ricky) and Scott Ambrose (Bonnie); grandchildren, Adam Brock, Lindsey Davidson (Steven), and three great-grandchildren, Reese, Marley, and Ella. The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 6-7:30 p.m. Graveside service was held in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. and conducted by Pastor Bill West.
