Barbara Anne Batterby of Gloucester, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the age of 82, surrounded by family. Barbara worked as an administrator for Riverside Walter Reed Hospital for many years. She always put family first. She loved to cook and get the whole family together around her dining room table. She made the best sweet potatoes and pork chops. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard Batterby Jr.; her daughter, Cynthia Leidig Smith, and her grandsons, Michael Leidig and Brandon Scott Grimm. Barbara is survived by her children, Kenneth “Chip” Leidig (Barbara) and Elizabeth Grimm (Donald); her grandchildren, Jamey Leidig, Jason Leidig, Ashley Leidig and Kyle Leidig (Jessica), and the light of her life, her great-grandson, Waylon Leidig. The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 10-10:45 a.m. followed by a chapel service, conducted by the Rev. Ken Cramer held at 11 o’clock. The inurnment is private.
