Barbara Ann Elie, 74, of Gloucester, passed away Jan. 11, 2017.
She was born in Norwich, Connecticut, on Feb. 2, 1942 to Joseph and Jennie Ladyga. Barbara was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Gloucester. She had been a member of St. Mary’s Association and St. Joseph’s. Barbara was a friend to everyone she met and was always kind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Lawrence C. Elie.
She is survived by her daughters, Debrah Elie Knarr and husband Gary, and Christine Elie Spiker; grandchildren, Brandon Knarr, Brittany Knarr, Bradley Spiker and Brooke Spiker; great-grandchildren, Brandon Knarr Jr., Bryce Knarr, Alexis Knarr, Troy Ledford and to-be-born Mason Alberstadts, and brother, Joseph Ladyga and wife Noreen.
Funeral Mass conducted by the Rev. James Cowles was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at St. Therese Catholic Church. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, from 4-6 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
