“I like to cook as it is a necessity but baking is fun,” explains owner and baker of Cardinal Cake Company in Gloucester Christina Cox. “I began making cakes at a very young age.”
Having learned about baking from her grandmother Christina says, “by the time I was a teenager, I was baking cakes for family and friends,” for all sorts of occasions. Her love for baking continued to grow and in 2020 she opened a business in her home.
On the way to success Christina experienced many changes in her life. She married Doug Cox. She attended a cake-decorating class with her grandmother taught by her aunt. She and Doug had three children, one boy and two girls. She did substitute teaching at Achilles school. And all the while still loving to bake.
