Mathews High School volleyball coach Pat Moughon, her players and the fans all jump for joy after winning the 2012 VHSL state semifinal game against Gate City High School. The Mathews girls returned to VCU’s Siegel Center in Richmond the following day to claim the Group A, Division 2 state championship for the second consecutive year. Coach Moughon and her girls were back at the MHS volleyball court last week to get ready for the upcoming 2024 season.
