Back on the golf course, Dukes win first tournament

The Gloucester High School golf team won its first tournament of the season for the Peninsula District last Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Hamptons Golf Course.
Although the event was shortened to nine holes due to torrential downpours caused by Tropical Storm Debby, the Dukes won by 12 shots over Warwick.
Leading the way for Gloucester was senior Blake Sibley who won the individual title with a one-under par 35. Tying for second place individually were sophomore Fenton Scott and freshman Levi Vannoy, both shooting two-over par 37.
Rounding out the team’s scoring was junior Joseph Moritz with a nine-over par 44.
