B.C. United Outreach holds Chucks and Tux Scholarship Gala

B.C. United Outreach, an organization committed to providing opportunities to area youth, held its annual Chucks and Tux Scholarship Gala last month at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, Bena.
The Nov. 16 event was a fundraiser that benefitted three general scholarships for higher learning and one scholarship for the arts for local students. It also aided its programs such as the I Am Enough 6-12th grade girls’ empowerment retreat, the Boys 2 Men 6-12th grade young men’s retreat, the Back 2 School Block Party and Community Resource Fair Medicare, Financial, Identity Theft Seminars and multiple visits to nursing homes for spa days with seniors.
“Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s annual Scholarship Gala,” said the chairman of B.C. United Outreach Derek Jones. “Your generosity brings us closer to empowering future leaders.”
