B.C United Outreach, a local nonprofit organization, held its annual Back to School Community Block Party and Resource Fair on Saturday at the Abingdon Ruritan Club in Guinea.
The event provided free school supplies to the community, free lunch for attendees, family activities, prizes, as well as other entertainment.
Event sponsors included Sentara, Gloucester Toyota and the Gloucester Community Foundation, who were present to show their support. Multiple other sponsors, local vendors, providers and volunteers also took part in the fun.
Gloucester County Public School principals, assistant principals, teachers and other staff were also present, as well as division superintendent Dr. Anthony Vladu. The Gloucester School Board office team helped grill hot dogs and hamburgers for all who came hungry on Saturday.
