Auditions Sunday for summer youth musical

Auditions for the Court House Players’ summer youth musical, “Fiddler on the Roof Jr.,” will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Newington Baptist Church, Main Street, Gloucester.
The cast includes a wide range of roles for children ages 8-18.
Those auditioning should bring a karaoke CD or digital music accompaniment in order to sing a prepared audition song (not from the show) that’s no longer than two minutes. They should also be prepared to dance and read from the script.
Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 2-4 p.m. at Newington. Show dates are Oct. 18-20 at Mathews High School.
About the show
Set in the little village of Anateuka, the show centers on Tevye, a poor dairyman, and his five daughters.
With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevya tries to marry off his daughters and instill in them a sense of tradition in the face of growing anti-Semitism in Czarist Russia.
