Auditions coming up for ‘Blithe Spirit’

The Court House Players will hold auditions for Noel Coward’s comedy “Blithe Spirit” from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, at Ware Episcopal Church parish house, Gloucester.
A smash comedy hit when it opened in London and on Broadway in the 1940s, this much-revived classic features cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, remarried but haunted by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira, who is called up by a visiting “happy medium,” one Madame Arcati. Worldly and unworldly personalities clash as this “blithe spirit” haunts the hapless Charles.
The cast has three strong women’s roles, two surprise women’s roles, and two sophisticated men’s roles.
CHP dinner theater performances will be March 28-30, with a show only on March 31 at the Piankatank Ruritan Club in Hudgins.
