The board of directors of Arts On Main in Gloucester has purchased the facility it occupies at 6580 Main Street from the organization’s founder and former director, Kay Van Dyke.
According to a press release, the purchase is part of Arts On Main’s strategic plan, and it will allow for additional space for art exhibits, art classes, ceramics, and meeting space for local artists, critique groups and community activities.
Van Dyke’s vision was for Arts On Main to remain on Main Street and eventually be purchased by the nonprofit arts organization, said the release. That vision is being realized by way of the past year’s strategic planning process and the work of the board’s Facilities Committee.
