Arts on Main finds ways to continue its mission virtually

Arts on Main in Gloucester has found a number of ways to share art with the community while people are hunkered down in their homes during the coronavirus pandemic.
A weekly blog with “fresh, creative content to inspire your week” began on March 30. The first week contains tips on running a creative business, said an email from the arts group, while the second week will feature guest posts and spotlights on requested topics.
An introduction to an artist the gallery finds inspiring will be the topic of the third week’s blog post, while the final week will be an art project.
For children, a weekly virtual After School Art Program video began on Wednesday on Facebook, with teachers offering creative, educational projects inspired by the Virginia SOLs. Kindergartners and first graders can create art projects using supplies found around the house.
