Clayton Neal, the long-established Music Man of Middlesex County, has organized a powerful lineup for this weekend’s Arts in the Middle festival at Hewick Plantation in Urbanna.
Beginning Saturday at 10:30, there will be music throughout the weekend on two stages, featuring such local and regional favorites as “Something Different” from Gloucester, with Brad Sindle and his daughter Ashley Wenner playing a mix of jazz, bluegrass and pop. They vary their show in style, era, genre and instrumentation, with numbers ranging from the occasional a cappella song to synthesizer pieces that “pull out all the stops.”
Other groups on the stage near the plantation house include Richmond’s sophisticated “Monument City Jazz Trio,” the Northern Neck’s “Itchy Dog” playing funky blues, and the “Just Us” pop musicians from Urbanna.
