Fiddler Dana Lyn and guitarist Kyle Sanna will perform at 7 p.m. next Thursday, June 15, at Abingdon Episcopal Church, Route 17, White Marsh.
This is the final concert of the season in the Arts at Abingdon concert series, and it is being presented in partnership with the Gloucester Arts Festival and the Cook Foundation.
Admission is free, with a free-will offering accepted. No reservations are required.
Lyn and Sanna present stories of environmental fragility through Irish music and evocative imagery, said a press release, adding that the two “connect the dots between their experience as composers and improvisers in New York City’s rich musical community and their deep admiration for traditional Irish music.”
The duo has collaborated with such great interpreters of Irish music as Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill, Cillian Vallely and Kevin Burke. Folklorist Mick Moloney has described them as “groundbreaking,” while Burke has said they’re “bursting with creativity.”
