Saxophonist Otis Murphy and pianist Haruko Murphy will perform in the Arts at Abingdon Concert Series at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at Abingdon Episcopal Church on Route 17 at White Marsh.
Presented in partnership with the Gloucester Arts Festival and The Cook Foundation, the concert is free of charge, with a free-will offering accepted. No reservations are required.
Otis Murphy is a professor of music in saxophone at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He joined the faculty at age 28, becoming one of the youngest faculty members in the school’s history. He is the recipient of several international awards, including prizes in Belgium’s Adolphe Sax International Saxophone Competition and France’s Jean-Marie Londeix International Saxophone Competition.
