‘Art of Food’ exhibit opens Feb. 28

An opening reception for “The Art of Food,” an exhibit featuring foods, drinks and theme-related items, will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28 in the Art Speaks Gallery at the Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews. The show includes varied media from both local and regional artists. Many of the participating artists will be attending and available to discuss their work, a release said. Youth artwork from the school’s outreach programs will be displayed, and young people will vote on a “Kids’ Choice” award prior to the reception. There will also be a food-related project for young visitors. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be on display Feb. 28–March 24. Shown here is a piece created by artist Sue Henshaw, in which everything in the table setting, including the food, is pottery.
