Leonne Arsenovic, 63, of Gloucester has announced her candidacy in the November election for the Ware District seat of the Gloucester County School Board.
“I just think I could bring a lot to the school board,” said Arsenovic.
In her career, Arsenovic worked 27 years in public education, 21 of which she was a teacher at Gloucester County Public Schools.
One of Arsenovic’s goals, if elected to the school board, is to work to make all GCPS elementary schools Blue Ribbon Schools, which is a recognition based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.
In their education, Arsenovic wants students to “be prepared in the best possible ways.” This includes instilling a love of learning and confidence in students. She also strives to increase vocational training options at Gloucester High School and to help teachers meet all students’ unique instructional needs.
