The water was full over the July 4 holiday weekend with boaters, according to Morningstar Marinas Gwynn’s Island general manager Tina Minor. She reported that speckled trout are still running; however, only one citation was weighed this week—a 7-pound, 11-ounce fish caught by Tony Hudgins of North, in Dividing Creek.
"No good news on the flounder," Minor said. "They’re still being caught lately, but they are all throwbacks. No keepers yet."
She said some anglers mentioned seeing cobia near York Spit last week. "Hopefully, it’s the start of that season now," she said.
