April is Month of the Military Child

April has been designated as the Month of the Military Child, celebrating and honoring the resilience, sacrifices and unique experience of children in military families.
In observance of this, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 75, Gloucester, has gone to all five Gloucester elementary schools and decorated bulletin boards, according to Cheryl Slavnik of the organization.
Each school will have monthlong activities to recognize the military students. April 15 is “Purple Up Day” where people are asked to wear purple in support of the military child. The five elementary schools will ask the students to wear purple on that day.
