Arts on Main in Gloucester announced Monday that it has been awarded a $9,655 General Operating Support Grant by the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
The grant will be used to help Arts on Main continue to offer classes and art shows to Gloucester residents and visitors of all ages and backgrounds, said a press release. The funds will also help support the general operating expenses involved in running the organization’s award-winning gallery on Main Street. Earlier this year, the gallery was awarded second place by “Virginia Living” in the category of top art galleries in Eastern Virginia.
General Operating Support state grants are awarded to organizations that are recognized as having made significant and impactful contributions to Virginia and its citizens, said the release.
The VCA is the state agency dedicated to investing in the arts across the commonwealth and “plays a crucial role in enhancing Virginia’s economy and arts ecosystem,” said the release.
