ANTHONY J. ‘TONY’ VOLPE III

Anthony J. “Tony” Volpe III, a native of New Jersey, age 48, of Gloucester Point, died unexpectedly at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Francis Lawrence, Mary Eileen Murray, Anthony J. Volpe Sr., Katherine Volpe, and Lynn Volpe. Tony, also known as “Big Tony,” was the service manager for the Gloucester Auto Max family. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold; loved his family, the Philadelphia Eagles, chocolate milkshakes, and cleaning. He loved to travel to the beach and visit Walt Disney World.

He was an avid lover of the weather and loved a good thunderstorm and/or blizzard. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristen Volpe (née Goetter); daughters, Emma and London; mother, Dianne Niblett (late Daniel Niblett); father, Anthony J. Volpe Jr. (Teresa Volpe); brothers, Joseph Volpe (Amanda), Vincent Volpe; step-sister, Denise Devaney (Thomas), and father- and mother-in-law, John and Janet Goetter. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family received friends Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home. A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ken Cramer.

The interment will be private.
