Anthem Virginia, a large health insurance provider, is working hard to "put the pieces together" for a more efficient health care delivery system," Virginia president C. Burke King said at a Chamber of Commerce program in Gloucester May 23.
"We have a very fragmented delivery system," King, a Gloucester native, said of health care in America. Anthem is working to improve patient care and the access its clients have to physicians, he said.
An important component of a national health care plan, King said, is providing a means for better coordination of services. Anthem already is working toward that goal by pushing for an increased use of electronic records, allowing better tracking of a patient’s health profile.
