‘Annie Jr.’ comes to Gloucester Aug. 14, 15

The musical “Annie Jr.” will be presented on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14 and 15, by The Moose Family Center on Moose Drive in Gloucester.
With a cast of over 30 youth, the show is based on “Little Orphan Annie” and musically tells the story of an orphan in a facility run by the mean Miss Hannigan, played by Clara Dodier-Fernandez.
Annie, the orphan, portrayed by Mary Ashton VanFossen, believes that her parents left her there by mistake. When a rich man named Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks (Carter Roane) decides to let an orphan live at his home to promote his image, his secretary Grace (Hannah Symonds) selects Annie.
While Annie becomes accustomed to living in Warbucks’s mansion, she still longs to meet her parents, so Warbucks announces a search for them, with a reward. This brings out many frauds, including Rooster Hannigan (Evan Foster) and Lily (Cora Rowe).
