Peter and Ruth Machen of Foster (in costume) were part of the cast of “Anne of Green Gables—The Musical,” which was presented Feb. 1-4 at Tomahawk Creek Middle School in Midlothian. The siblings portrayed townspeople, and Ruth was also in The Ladies Guild. The two worked with the cast and artistic team at Character Works (cworkstheater.org) for the past two months. About 3,500 people attended the show’s seven performances over the course of five days. The Machens are taking acting classes and hope to do more performing in the future, they said.
