“A happy, spring atmosphere” filled Gloucester Court House last weekend for the 38th annual Daffodil Festival, with an estimated 25,000+ spectators taking part in the activities, shopping from the more than 200 vendors and lining up to see this year’s parade, according to Daffodil Festival coordinator Debbie Wesolowski.
Weather was a little bit chilly, but otherwise pleasant for the huge crowds that showed up on Saturday and Sunday.
“The shuttle was just humming” on both days, as people filled up the Gloucester High School parking lot with spaces at a premium, she said. Festival organizers are looking at adding another bus next year to handle the crowds, Wesolowski added.
“Overall, I think we had such a fun event,” she said. Wesolowski enjoyed walking through the crowd “incognito,” overhearing people talk about all the wonderful food, when the Amazing Mutt show was going to be held, etc. “It’s fun for me to wander around the crowd to listen.”
