Former staff members of Achilles Elementary School gathered for lunch on Oct. 17 at Nick’s Spaghetti & Steak House to reminisce and share memories. The jovial group included teachers, teacher assistants, school secretaries, cafeteria staff, and school administrators. Ed Morris, who was principal in the older school building (1963-64), shared some little-known historical information about local Baptist missionary, John Rowe, and a field trip taken by sixth and seventh graders to Luray Caverns in 1964.
