The Gloucester High School indoor track and field teams traveled to Lynchburg to compete at the VHSL Class 4 State Indoor Track and Field Championships at Liberty University on Monday and Tuesday.
Seniors Rylan Allcorn and Mya Baker both competed in the 1,000-meter run Tuesday afternoon.
Allcorn earned All State honors by placing runner up in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:35.03. He not only ran a personal best, but he also destroyed his own school record he set at the regional championship two weeks prior. Baker placed 11th in the 1,000-meter run running her personal best of 3:10.51.
“Both athletes were in a great mindset before and after their races. As seniors, you can’t ask for a better way to finish their indoor season,” said head coach Stanley Hundley.
This meet concluded the season for the GHS indoor track and field teams as they prepare for outdoor season in the coming weeks.
