Mathews High School senior Aly Jackson, top, and sophomore Ashton Hudgins, bottom, were 1st team Region A picks in softball. Jackson was named for her play at third base; Hudgins was a Designated Player (DP)-Flex selection. Three other MHS players were 2nd team Region A selections: junior pitcher Morgan Crittenden, senior outfielder Reese Brock and freshman shortstop Avery Thomas.
