According to Central Food Service, free breakfast and lunch will be provided to all Gloucester County Public Schools students for the 2024-2025 school year.
This is made possible through the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision program. According to Virginia Hunger Solutions, CEP is a new tool allowing school divisions that meet a certain poverty threshold to offer breakfast and lunch to all students at no charge.
Additionally, the measure streamlines school meal operations by eliminating the need to collect and process applications.
My School Bucks
With parent or guardian permission, students may purchase snacks and/or extra entrees from the lunch line through the student’s My School Bucks account.
My School Bucks allows parents to access and manage their student’s snack account online. Through the account, parents can monitor their student’s account balance and purchases. The system also sends low balance reminders to the email address registered with the account.
