Abingdon Elementary School Math Interventionist Ami McCullough was able to present all 450 students at the school with a wrapped Christmas gift last Thursday after hosting a fundraiser campaign online through DonorsChoose.
Each gift was grade-level appropriate for the individual student and included activities that students can play indoors while the weather is cold. McCullough’s goal was to provide each student a small book or game that would offer engaging practice in literacy or mathematics at home. Gift examples include word searches, Mad Libs, Uno and Go Fish.
All fifth-grade students also received an Abingdon keepsake ornament in addition to their gift.
