All 11 GHS field hockey starters named to All-State team

Gloucester High School’s field hockey program ended the year on a high note, as all 11 starters were named to the Virginia High School League All-State team, and one player—Reese Miller—was named the VHSL Class 4 Player of the Year.
This is the first time in the program’s history that all 11 starters received All-State honors in a season. The team finished the season as state runners-up to Loudoun Valley after a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime loss.
Of the 11 players, three are seniors, six are juniors, one is a sophomore and one is a freshman. The Dukes will graduate six seniors from a squad of 24, leaving plenty of depth in the barrel for another run deep next season.
