The Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula Chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Society will hold its monthly luncheon program on Thursday, Jan. 18, at the Pilot House Restaurant, located next to the Hummel Field Airport in Topping.
The meet-and-greet will begin at 11:30 a.m., with a buffet lunch at noon and the program beginning at 12:30 p.m.
The presenter of this month’s program will be Commander Greg ‘Cinder’ Blok of the U.S. Navy Reserve. Blok is an F-18 Super Hornet pilot and a T-34 pilot (turbo-prop Navy and Marine Corps pilot trainer plane). He is also a former CAG (Carrier Air Group) Landing Signals Officer, former AIRLANT (Naval Air Force Atlantic) Landing Signals Officer, and TOPGUN Adversary School graduate. Blok served three combat deployments in the Middle East and was the T-45 Instructor Pilot of the Year in 2015.
