An Advent service hosted at Westville Christian Church on Main Street, Mathews, begins at noon today, Thursday, Dec. 5. The services will continue on the following two Thursdays, Dec. 12 and 19.
The Rev. Kristie Askew, pastor of Emmanuel, Grace Providence and St. Matthew United Methodist churches, will speak. Pam Manz and Carl Roane will have the special music. Manz will have her painting “Morning Has Broken” on display.
The half-hour service is ecumenical, free and open to the public, a release said.
