For the second time this season, Gloucester racer Brett Adkins doubled up, winning both the Truckin’ Thunder Sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Car features on Saturday night at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway in Middlesex.
In the Sportsman race, Adkins took the lead in turn 2 of the first lap and kept widening it as the 25-lap race went on. The Stock Car race was a little tougher, as Adkins slid under Stephen Childress of St. Stephens Church in turn 1 of lap 10, making enough contact to send Childress up the track and take over the lead. That was all Adkins needed as he cruised to his second win of the night.
In other racing action, Billy Tucker of King George picked up his first career win at VMS in the 35-lap Victory Lap Late Model feature and Jimmy Duncan made it two in a row with his win in the Budweiser Modified 25-lap race.
