A Valentine’s Day paper-flower-making class, a youth arts class and a Black History Month artist talk are some of the upcoming events at Arts on Main, Gloucester.
From 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, Ronda Bowden will hold a Valentine’s Day paper-flower-making class. Using paper, students will create a realistic rose.
In this class, students will learn techniques to take paper petals from flat to three-dimensional. All supplies are provided to create one rose, including petal templates to use after the class to make a whole bouquet. In this special Valentine’s Day class, enjoy nibbling on chocolate while working. The price is $40 per student.
From noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, Anne Atkinson will conduct a “Telltale Art” class for children and teens, ages 10 and up. Students will be reading some of Edgar Allen Poe’s works and creating ravens using wire, feathers and clay. They will also be creating silhouettes of their own profiles. Cost per student is $25.
