Accelerated Reader program

Mathews Elementary School honored its standout students in its Accelerated Reader program during the May 16 Mathews School Board meeting. Fourth grader Lars Golden and third grader Logan Burroughs were each recognized for reading 1 million words and Emma Saunders was recognized for reading 214,605 words, the most in the second grade.
