Abingdon students receive grant for Colonial Williamsburg trip

Abingdon Elementary School’s fourth graders will soon head to Colonial Williamsburg on a charter bus, thanks to a grant from the American Battlefield Trust’s History Field Trip Grant Program.
This trip will provide students with a hands-on history learning opportunity. Grants are awarded based on a competitive national application process, demonstrating Abingdon’s commitment to excellence in the classroom.
“Students are brimming with excitement for the trip,” said Lauren Ginder, Abingdon’s Community Engagement Coordinator. “We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of the American Battlefield Trust and the Gloucester Museum of History. We are very thankful that our students will have the opportunity to experience ‘history coming to life’ with a full day of hands-on learning and first-person interpretation at Colonial Williamsburg.”
