Abingdon Church expands eligibility for scholarship

Abingdon Episcopal Church has broadened eligibility for the scholarship it offers to members of the community.
Previously only available to members of the current high school graduating class, the church’s Robert Pollock Memorial Scholarship application process is now open to any high school graduate planning to further their education.
Area students who anticipate graduation in 2024, including those who attend private high schools and home-schooled students are encouraged to apply, a release stated. The $500 scholarship (renewable for up to four years) is available to students who plan to attend a trade school, community college, or a four-year college or university.
Preference is given to students who have demonstrated faith-based and community involvement and who have maintained a ‘B’ average or higher, a release said.
