A ‘wheel,’ which probably meant a bicycle, stolen at Susan

Some scamp or tramp entered the yard of Mr. W.L. Williams at Susan during the past week and carried off a wheel, which had been left on the porch near the front door, which belonged to Miss Susie. It was found broken and left on the road about half a mile from where it was stolen. There are some wild, reckless young men in our community who have acquired the habit of emptying beer bottles and engaging in such mischief, but they do not steal, so I think this was someone who does not belong around here.
A few Sundays ago one of the good sisters of Old Baptist Church at Susan was in such a hurry to hear Bro. Snyder’s sermons that she forgot and wore her gingham apron. It was not discovered until she was well seated in church; nevertheless, she enjoyed the sermon very much.
