The Death Angel visited the Laban home of Mrs. Laura Diggs on Wednesday last and summoned away her mother who had been an invalid for some time.

A fine yoke of oxen owned by Captain J.C. Hudgins of Diggs, were accidentally killed by the falling upon them of a large tree on last Friday while they were hauling logs to his mill.
Mr. J.B. Bennett announces that he has established a saw mill near Hudgins, Va., and anyone desiring lumber cut can apply to J.B. Bennett, Mathews, Va. or B.F. Wood, Hudgins, Va.
