The Marquis de Lafayette recently dropped in to meet with the members of the Williamsburg chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Actually, it was Colonial Williamsburg Foundation interpreter Mark Schneider, who has been hired to play Lafayette in the fourth season of “Turn,” the Netflix series about Gen. George Washington’s spies. Schneider was the guest speaker at the group’s March 7 meeting. Honored at this luncheon were men and women who have served our country and are military veterans. Shown here, from left, are Col. Stephen Wilson (U.S. Army-ret.) and his wife, Dr. Linda Wilson of Mathews, Schneider and the Wilsons’ guests, Lila and Bill Brent from Reedville. Lila’s Revolutionary War ancestor was French and fought with Lafayette in the victory over Cornwallis and the British at Yorktown.
