Members of Spring Hill Baptist Church, Cobbs Creek, had often thought about publishing a cookbook. It is well known that there are many, if not all, excellent cooks within its walls. However it took one lady, Crystal Stump, talking with the pastor about such an idea, before the cookbook became a reality.
“It really has been teamwork,” Lillian White explained. “Crystal served as chairman and then everyone pitched in. First we had to get out the word that we needed recipes. We have six people who went to Africa on a mission, and they brought back recipes. We have potluck dinners here about once a month. It’s called community night and the public is invited. That was a good source of recipes as the majority of the recipes are from members of Spring Hill.”
